Erik Throm is a SF Bay Area native with a passion for, and deep understanding of real estate. After graduating from college in Michigan and living in the Midwest for a short time, Erik returned home to pursue a tech career in Silicon Valley, where he worked for 10 years. Erik fell in love with Real Estate after purchasing his own house in San Francisco and decided to leave a successful tech career to practice real estate full time, right in his own backyard!
“I live, play, eat, sleep, and breathe San Francisco,” Erik says. In fact, he knows San Francisco so well that he has a YouTube channel that provides in-depth information about the city’s unique and diverse neighborhoods.
“In the videos, I talk about how much homes cost in each area, the walkability score, restaurants, where to find the nearest Whole Foods and everything else you need to know about the neighborhood.” It’s one of many ways that Erik shares his extensive Bay Area knowledge with others.
“I just get up every day and try to provide as much value to the community as possible. That’s my motivation,” Erik says.
When Erik isn’t recording neighborhood guides on YouTube, you can find him hanging out with his wife Chelsea, their son Jackson, and their cats Elvie and Lola (who happen to have their own TikTok channel- @Elvie_n_Lola). Erik and Chelsea love taking advantage of everything San Francisco has to offer – from sporting events to world-class restaurants. They are avid 49ers and Giants fans and are Golden State Warriors season ticket holders.
He also enjoys being physically active, whether he’s playing in his baseball league, golfing or scuba diving around the world. He and his wife are also avid travelers and enjoy exploring new places as often as they can. From uninhabited islands in Malaysia to the pyramids of Giza in Egypt, Erik is always happy to share travel tips from his own adventures!
Erik will be the first to tell you that he’s not a “salesy” kind of agent. In fact, he’s never worked a sales job and has no desire to start now.
“I’m not your typical old-school agent. I bring my own unique skills from working in tech and global security. I’m very analytical, and my clients appreciate that…. I don’t care if it takes my client three days to buy a house, or three years, I’ll be with them providing data and support every step of the way,” he says. At the end of the day, Erik says his ultimate goal is to treat every client like a “client for life.”
His enthusiasm for the Bay Area shines through in every transaction, which is great for buyers who are moving to the area for the first time.
