Born in San Francisco, Arthur “Art” Tom has lived in the City and Northern California his entire life. In all his travels, Art still feels San Francisco is the best place to live. After Art graduated from the University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business, he worked at a “Big Four” public accounting firm and became a CPA. Later, he worked as a business tax auditor for the City and County of San Francisco. For Art, the financial and real estate worlds have always been intertwined.

Art began by working with his father in commercial real estate while in college and eventually, he specialized in selling residential and investment properties in San Francisco for over 20 years. As a homeowner and multiunit investment property owner himself, Art appreciates the importance that wise investments in real estate can have on wealth building. He also understands well how to deal with the many challenges that property owners and landlords in San Francisco must face.

With a firm belief in civic service, Art has served as a commissioner on the San Francisco Assessment Appeals Board settling property valuation cases, and he currently serves on the San Francisco Rent Board representing property rights of landlords. With such specialized experience, it makes sense that Art concentrates on multiunit residential and investment properties.

Art is an active member of the San Francisco Apartment Association and the Small Property Owners of San Francisco Institute. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing and playing guitar. Art and his wife have two daughters and are proud to be part of the fabric of San Francisco.
